OS2 is a type of single-mode fiber, characterized by a zero-dispersion wavelength of 1310nm and the ability to support longer transmission distances. Compared to the OS1 single-mode type, OS2 fiber core diameters are more precise and attenuation is lower.
During installation, be sure to keep the adapter connector clean to avoid dust and debris. Align the keying and polarity, and gently insert the MPO patch cable, avoiding forceful insertion or removal.
It can be installed on a panel or chassis using screws through the "Long Ear" flange. No special tools are required, but it is recommended to wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent static electricity from damaging the optical fiber.
