"Key Up/Key Down" refers to the MPO connectors on each end of the adapter having opposite keying orientations: one end has the keying facing up (Key Up), the other end has the keying facing down (Key Down). This design is designed to align with the Type B polarity cross-connect logic, ensuring that when patch cables with different keying positions are inserted at both ends, the fiber core positions are correctly aligned.
"Key Up/Key Up" ensures consistent keying orientation and is suitable for Type A/C direct connections or single-pair crossover scenarios. Key Up/Key Down prevents misalignment caused by incorrect keying orientation and is the physical basis for Type B polarity.
We do not recommend mixing them. Adapters with different polarity correspond to different core connection logic: Type A is a straight-through connection, Type B is a full crossover, and Type C is a single-pair crossover. Mixing them will cause the core positions on the transmitter and receiver to misalign, resulting in interruption or excessive attenuation.
"MPO" refers to a multi-fiber connector that can accommodate multiple fibers, such as 8, 12, or 24, simultaneously, enabling high-density connections. "APC" (Angle Polished Connector) refers to an interface with an 8-degree polished end face, significantly reducing return loss.
Yes. The mounting hole dimensions of the "Long Ear" flange follow international standards. Standard screws are sufficient for installation.
