Preparing for Network Upgrades

MTP|MPO cabling can be used for direct connections of 40G-40G, 100G-100G, 200G-200G, and 400G-400G, as well as for higher speed uplink connections. Upgrading from 10G to 40G/100G using MTP|MPO cabling systems is already common and is an economical and reliable option for upgrading 10G networks to higher-speed Ethernet. Simultaneously, uplink connections between devices of different speeds can also be achieved using MTP|MPO cabling systems, such as 25G-100G, 50G-200G/400G, 100G-400G, and 200G-400G.

Optimize Your Network with AOFPLUS Structured MTP®|MPO Cabling Infrastructure

Most popular MPO|MTP fiber patch cables contain 8, 12, or 24 fibers, even72 fibers; and they support data rates 10G, 40G, 100G, 200G and 800G. AOFPLUS’s MPO|MTP® Cabling Solution, using a higher performing MPO connector, and MTP® connector which is made by US Conec, bringing the highest quality multifiber pre-terminated system to our customers. Compliant with TIA/ISO/IEC standards, it guarantees signal integrity and stable operation even in demanding data center environments.

The Application of MTP®|MPO Trunk Cable

MTP®|MPO trunk cable comes in fiber counts ranging from 8/12/24 or more fibers.

The application of 8cores MTP®|MPO cable in optical transceiver systems is parallel transmission for 40G and 100G links. When directly connecting one QSFP+ MTP®|MPO interface transceiver to another, a Type-B female MTP®|MPO cable is required. This type of direct connectivity is only suggested for short distances within a given row of racks or cabinets. Its 8cores configuration aligns perfectly with QSFP+ SR4 transceiver, enabling full fiber utilization for direct end to end connections.

12cores MTP®|MPO cable supports parallel connections for 40G, 100G, 200G, and 400G links, enabling short distance, high speed direct connections. They are also deployed as high density trunk links between fiber patch panels or switches, reducing cabling complexity while maximizing fiber utilization.

For distances less than 400 meters, the use of multimode MTP®|MPO fiber cabling is generally the preferred cabling method. The MTP®|MPO cabling is interconnected with MTP®|MPO adapter panel. Following image shows the distribution switch, optical transceiver and cabling options with corresponding item details for a QSFP+ to QSFP+ multimode interconnection.

The 24cores MTP®|MPO cable is a high density and cost effective solution designed for high bandwidth applications. The 24cores MTP®|MPO cable supports 100G and extended 120G links, which can be configured as twelve 10G channels or grouped into three 40G links, providing flexible parallel optical connectivity. Below is the cabling solution with 24cores MTP®|MPO cable:

The Application of MTP®|MPO Conversion Cable

AOFPLUS provides different types of MTP®|MPO conversion breakout cables, such as 24cores to 2x12core, 24core to 3x8core, and 2x12core to 3x8core, which are engineered to deliver flexible interconnection between diverse fiber optic systems.

1*2 MTP®|MPO conversion cable typically use 24cores to 2x12cores or 16cores to 2x8cores designs. They support direct connections from 2x200G to 400G without the need for additional MTP®|MPO cassettes, providing a more cost effective, simplified, and high performance cabling solution for next generation data centers.

Boasting a 24cores MTP®|MPO connector on one end and 3x8cores MTP®|MPO connectors on the other side, the 1×3 MTP®|MPO conversion cable is engineered to transform a 24cores backbone connection into 3x8C branch links. Suitable for 40G to 120G network deployments, 1×3 MTP®|MPO conversion is widely utilized to split a 120G CXP module signal into 3x40G QSFP+ links, allowing a high efficiency network upgrades without the need to modify their pre-existing backbone cabling infrastructure.

2×3 MTP®|MPO conversion cable come with 2x12cores trunk links into 3x8cores connections, delivering efficient 12cores strand utilization and seamless connectivity between different cabling systems. Suitable for 10G to 40G and 40G to 40G network interconnection. For example, in 40G to 40G connection, the 3x8cores MTP®|MPO connectors connect to 3x40G QSFP+ transceivers, and then 2x12cores MTP®|MPO connectors plug into a 12cores MTP®|MPO fiber adapter panel. This configuration allows 8cores MTP®|MPO links to run on existing 12cores fiber cabling, ensuring efficient resource utilization and seamless network integration.

The Application of MTP®|MPO-LC Harness Breakout Fiber Patch Cable

8/12/24cores MTP®|MPO breakout fiber cable consists of a single MTP®|MPO connector on one end and multiple standard connectors (such as LC/SC connectors) on the other. MTP®|MPO breakout fiber cables are used to split high speed, high fiber count MTP®|MPO connections into multiple lower speed connections for use by multiple devices, such as splitting a 40G or 100G port into multiple 10G or 25G ports. This simplifies cabling, improves port utilization, and is commonly used in high-bandwidth applications in data centers.

The Applications of MPO|MTP Adapter Panels

MTP®|MPO adapter panels are complementary products to MTP®|MPO cable, which are very common in backbone cabling and MPO|MTP fiber patch panel applications. MTP®|MPO adapter panels facilitate the rapid deployment of high speed interconnects (40G, 100G, 400G, and 800G) to maximize port density and improve airflow by reducing cable bulk. They are widely used in the Main Distribution Area (MDA), Horizontal Distribution Area (HDA), and Equipment Distribution Area (EDA).

MTP®|MPO Fiber Optic Patch Panel & Cassettes

1U 96cores rack mount MTP®|MPO fiber optic patch panel typically features 4 MPO|MTP Cassettes, which will be included 2x12cores or 1x24cores MTP®|MPO to LC fanout fiber patch cord. The front panel features with LC fiber adapter, allowing the 12/24coresMPO|MTP trunk cable to be split into LC duplex fiber patch cords. The MTP®|MPO fiber patchcord, when paired with a MPO|MTP fiber patch panel, enables rapid deployment of high density data center infrastructure and facilitates troubleshooting and reconfiguration during management.

Maintain MTP®|MPO Cabling System

MTP®|MPO fiber cleaning pen is used to quickly and effectively clean the ferrule end-faces of MTP®|MPO fiber optic connectors, which is crucial for maintaining a reliable optical network. MTP®|MPO fiber cleaning pen offers a convenient, high performance dry cleaning solution that removes dirt, oil, and other contaminants, preventing signal degradation and potential damage to the connectors. AOFPLUS’s MTP®|MPO fiber cleaning pen is designed for single push operation, can clean multiple fibers at once, and are used for both exposed connectors and those inside adapters.

Allow for Seamless Migration to Higher Data Rates in the Data Center

With the deployment of 40G/100G/200G/400G/800G data center networks, high speed and high density have become the trend. MPO|MTP cabling solutions cater to this trend, paving the way for building high-performance data center networks with their advantages of saving time, space, and cost, as well as superior stability and high density. Undoubtedly, MPO|MTP cabling solutions and components are the best choice for data interconnection and high speed migration.
