Fiber Optic Patch Cable|Fiber Optic Patchcord MPO-LC/UPC Female 8 Cores Type B Multimode OM4 Corning Low Loss 0.35dB Max 3.0mm OFNP Plenum 5m (16.5ft)

Specifications

Engineered for performance and safety, this MPO to LC breakout cable is built with 8 OM4 multimode fibers, supporting short-range parallel optics for 40G links. Its low-loss structure (0.35dB Max) minimizes attenuation, ensuring maximum bandwidth utilization in compact networking environments. The female MPO connector simplifies integration with existing trunk cabling, and the four LC/UPC duplex connectors support fast equipment interface. The cable's 3.0mm OFNP jacket is rated for plenum use, making it ideal for overhead or underfloor air-handling spaces in office buildings and data centers. Type B polarity guarantees accurate fiber mapping and seamless connection with standardized parallel transmission systems.

FAQ

It depends on the upgrade. If the new network still uses multimode fiber and compatible connectors (MPO and LC), then the patchcord can likely be reused. However, if the upgrade requires single-mode fiber or different connector types, the patchcord will need to be replaced.?
If the jacket is slightly damaged but the fibers inside are not exposed or damaged, you can use heat-shrink tubing to repair the area. However, if the fibers are exposed or damaged, the patchcord should be replaced to avoid signal loss or failure.?
When working near the patchcord, be careful not to step on it or pull it. Use proper tools when disconnecting connectors to avoid damaging the latches. Store any unused lengths of cable properly, coiled loosely and with protective caps on the connectors.
OM4 fiber can support 400Gbps over short distances (up to approximately 50 meters) using certain transceiver technologies. However, for longer distances or higher data rates beyond 400Gbps, single-mode fiber is likely to be required. It's important to consider your future network needs when choosing patchcords.?
While there are ongoing developments in fiber optic technology, MPO-LC fanout patchcords are widely used and likely to remain relevant for the foreseeable future, especially in data center environments. Emerging technologies such as higher-density connectors or new fiber types may complement rather than replace them in many applications.?
